This Week Sermon Out-line

( Jesus is not a prophet )

Reading Matthew. 16:13-23 & Mat:1-8

Intro. These days like the time of Jesus  a loot of people thinks that Jesus is a good teacher or a great prophet, but let us examine the issue.

a- We must notice that Jesus did not write about Himself any thing the eye witnesses ( The disciples wrote about Him ).
b- The disciples were not a scalars, but they were waiting for a Messiah to come and free Israel from the Roman control. (That's what they thought about Jesus They only know Jesus as a savior of the world after Pentecost day ), and here what they sow during the years of His ministry.

1-With a power he ordered the dead to arise and they did.( Talitha koum . Marks:41) ( Luke 7:14 the Widow's son )( John 11 :38 Raises Lazars from the dead.). In John 5:39 Jesus said ( You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that you posses eternal life . These are the scriptures that testify about me.)

2- He got the power to forgive sins ( Luke 5:17 the story of the paralyzed man whom his family opened the roof and lowered him in front of Jesus .
Jesus said to him ' Friend your sins are forgiven"  , and He declared that He got the authority on earth to forgive sins .).
If Jesus had the authority to forgive sins before the Cross , How much greater authority He got after He shed His blood for the redemption of sins?

3- Healed all our sickness. ( All kinds physical, mentally, and spiritually )
( acts 10:38 . He went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil. )

4- He know our hearts, thoughts and all what's in the nature and He has the power over every living soul.( Math. 17: 27 Jesus send Peter to the lake to catch a fish and to open it's mouth and to take from there four drachma to pay to the tax collectors.)( Luke 7: 36-50  notice verse 39 the Pharisee who invited Him said to himself....... and Jesus answered him)

5-He was risen  (The Resurrection: Math. 28, Mark, Luke 24.and John 20.) He conquered death ( The devil ) and He promised in John 14 that He will come back to take the believers to their home in Heaven and in revelation 20 :4-6 ( Blessed and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection . The second death has no power over them ( Judgment).)

6- Our creator will not leave us without a lowyer , advocate, redeemer of in, or without a representative He sent His Son Jesus to us as we read in Math. 17 at the transfiguration mountain When Moses and Elijah appeared and they were talking about Jesus cross in Jerusalem. How Jesus start to shine ( from writhen not from any other source ) and the voice of God the father( This is my son ). Moses knew Jesus at the old time by the Passover in Egypt , tabernacle, the Manna from heaven , by the sacrifices ......
So who is Jesus to you ?

Jesus is our Savior and the only one.
